Mumbai: It is a real life take-off on ‘Slumdog Millionaire.’ At its core is the story of ‘The Kings’, a group of Nalasopara street children, who are now champs, having won the American reality show, the ‘World of Dance’, and a booty of million dollars.  This is a group of 14 young boys from Nalasopara who put up a dazzling performance and won the hearts of millions.  The World of Dance trophy and first prize means that the 14 boys have earned  Rs 7 crores. After 12 weeks and five rounds, the finals of the World of Dance show were held on Sunday night in the USA. On the live blog of the finals, the judges said ‘The Kings’ had only 30 seconds of choreography to prove themselves and from the initial reactions it seemed as if the judges

felt the group had peaked too soon.  “The Kings had only about 30 seconds of choreography to show the judges their prowess during their mentoring session. Have they peaked too soon?” Derek wonders. Jennifer tells them they need to feel bigger and better than they ever have been before. They need to outdo themselves. They need to go all out in the ‘Avengers: Endgame’ to justify their million dollar title.”  After this initial feeling, when they watched ‘The Kings’ perform, the judges were awe-struck. The troupe had dressed as gladiators and the judges felt as if it was a more “Spartacus” than “Avengers” performance. But they were on their feet after watching the entire feat.

In the live blog, they stated, “They presented a slow motion illusion that was better than the visual effects in “300.” Wow, just wow. The judges are on their feet. Derek’s mouth is hanging open. Sorry, Ellie and Ava, but this was undoubtedly the million dollar performance.”  ‘The Kings’ presented an entire new story and theme, surprising the judges; and while seeing it, most felt they deserved to win the million dollar final.

“Ne-Yo thought it was ‘the greatest action film’ he ever watched in his entire life. Derek felt like they ‘altered reality,’ and they had more dancing than they have had before. Jennifer thought they surprised her, which she didn’t think was possible. She was impressed by the fact that they came up with a new story.” And the best was reserved for last, when every judge awarded ‘The Kings’ the 100 full score. THE KINGS SCORES: Ne-Yo (100), Jennifer (100), Derek (100). Average: 100.
