Mumbai:  Barely a week after receiving the acid attack case file from Bandra GRP, the Railway Crime Branch now will hand over the file to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) as Home Minister R R Patil had assured that the Central investigating agency will probe the case.

N S Shaikh, senior inspector, Railway Crime Branch, said, “We were planning to visit Delhi at deceased Preeti Rathi’s residence for further investigation after going through the case file and CCTV footage of last few days, but now we have cancelled the all plans”.

“We did not get much time to investigate the case and now within seven days, we have to hand over the file to CBI,” said another officer of the Railway Crime Branch.
