Thane: The Central Police booked a tailor for allegedly looking at a woman in the trial room while she was changing her dress in Ulhasnagar on Sunday. The incident came to light when the woman objected to him. The locals allegedly beat him up, and the video was recorded and has gone viral on social media.

The incident took place in the Ulhasnagar area within the jurisdiction of the Central Police Station. The police said that the woman went to a tailor shop for a dress. She entered the trial room to check her dress.

Meanwhile, the accused was peeping into her outside the trial room. The woman felt that someone was peeping. Subsequently, she came out and grew suspicious of a tailor. She confronted the tailor, but he started to refuse. However, the locals rushed to the spot and assaulted him after receiving a tailor's actions.

The police said someone recorded an incident of assaulting a tailor, which went viral on social media. In the video, it can be seen that a policeman intervened in the matter, but a few people did not hear the police and obstructed the policeman's work and allegedly beat him (tailor) up. However, the policeman somehow called for an auto-rickshaw, sat in it, and left the spot.

The police booked a case against a tailor under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. The second FIR has been registered against six people who assaulted him. The police arrested a tailor on Sunday.

Senior Police Inspector Shankar Awatade from the Central Police Station said, "We booked a case against a tailor under section 74 (Assault or criminal force to a woman with intent to outrage her modesty) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita.

The second FIR was lodged against six people under section 132 (Criminal or criminal force to deter a public servant from discharging his duty) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita. They all were arreated on Sunday."
