Thane: In a shocking incident that has raised serious concerns about law and order, supporters of a molestation accused in Ulhasnagar, near Thane, celebrated his release from jail with a motorcycle rally and fireworks outside the home of the victim. The brazen public celebration has not only sparked public outrage but also created a climate of fear for the victim and her family.

Bike Rally Organised, Firecrackers Bursted Outside Victim's House

The main accused, Rohit Bipin Jha, was recently released on bail from Adharwadi Jail after being arrested in a molestation case involving two women. Upon his release, his supporters, including Ashish alias Sonmani Jha, Hansu Jha and Bittu Yadav, took out a loud procession with bikes, drums and firecrackers, deliberately halting near the residence of the victim in Ramabai Tekdi, Camp 2 area of Ulhasnagar. A video of the shocking incident has gone viral on the internet.

According to the police, the original incident occurred on the night of April 27, when four accused forcibly entered a house and molested two young women. Reports state that they tore the women's clothes, assaulted them and created panic in the neighbourhood. All four were arrested and sent to jail following the incident.

However, after Rohit Jha secured bail, his return home was marked by a public rally that openly flouted the law. Firecrackers were burst and drums played near the victim’s home, seen by many as an act of intimidation.

Police Launches Probe After Video Goes Viral

The entire episode was captured on video and quickly went viral on social media, drawing widespread condemnation. Following the online outrage, the police launched a fresh investigation into the incident. DCP Sachin Gore confirmed that based on the viral footage, new cases have been registered and multiple police teams have been dispatched to arrest the accused involved in the celebratory rally.

The police have registered two separate FIRs (No. 420/2025 and 704/2025) against the accused under multiple sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023 including Sections 74, 75, 76, 351(2)(3), 352, 115(2), 189(2), 190, 191(1)(3), 223, 285; the Arms Act Sections 37(1)(3), 135, 142; and the Maharashtra Police Act, 1951.
