Thane Road Accident: Biker Dies, Pillion Injured After 19-Year-Old Bullet Rider Collides With Motorcycle In Ambernath; Case Registered

A biker died and the riding pillion suffered injuries after being hit by a bullet in Ambernath on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Ravi Khatwani and the injured person as Bhagyashree Aundhkar. The accused has been identified as Naveen Thawani (19), who was also injured in a motorcycle collision.

Thane: A biker died and the riding pillion suffered injuries after being hit by a bullet in Ambernath on Tuesday. The deceased has been identified as Ravi Khatwani and the injured person as Bhagyashree Aundhkar. The accused has been identified as Naveen Thawani (19), who was also injured in a motorcycle collision.

The incident took place in Ambernath West, located on KV Road near D Mart on Tuesday night when the deceased was on his way home along with the pillion when they met with the accident.

The police said that Ravi and Bhagyashree stepped out of the mall after purchasing items. They were on their motorcycle on the way to Kalyan after crossing the Badlapur-Kalyan road when a bullet rider recklessly drove the vehicle heading from Ambernath and collided with them, severely injuring them. Following the collision between the vehicles, Khatwani, Bhagyashree, and Thavani, who rode a bullet, fell onto the road. Khatwani suffered serious head and bodily injuries and lost a lot of blood.

The locals rushed to the spot and alerted the local police. They were taken to a nearby hospital where Khatwani was declared dead on arrival, and the remains of the two were being treated in the hospital.

An FIR has been lodged against a bullet rider under various sections of 281, 125(A), 125(B), 106(1), and 324(4)(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and under relevant sections of 184 of the Motor Vehicle Act. The post-mortem was conducted, and the body was handed over to his family members for final rites.

Kishor Shinde, Police Inspector from Ambernath, said, "So far, we have registered an FIR against the accused. However, two people were being treated in the hospital while one died. Further investigation into this matter is ongoing."
