The Hill line police oh Thane have registered a case against four revellers for performing dangerous stunts with a car. The four were under the influence of alcohol and were booked for violating lockdown restriction, a police official said.
The four youngsters were traced to Hedutane village in Kalyan rural area of Thane district. The accused were as Vaibhav Bhandari, Pravin Bhandari, Anand Bhandari and Akash Bhopi. "We have registered a case for violating COVID lockdown norms," said a police officer.
The incident came to light after a video of the stunt went viral on a social networking site. It shows how one of them was seen sitting on the bonnet of the car and the other two were sitting on the window. While, one was driving. Locals who shot the video raised concern about their safety saying such video should not encourage other youngsters. "After the video went viral the police started a search operation," said a police officer.
In a earlier FPJ report, the video shows the youngsters driving the car at high speed and shouting. The locals kept following them and found they just came to enjoy the environment.
Locals who kept a watch on the car found the youngsters drinking alcohol and driving at high speed in the rain. The road is usually isolated and revelers visit there to enjoy the monsoon.
