Thane: The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has announced a scheduled 12-hour water cut on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, due to essential pre-monsoon maintenance work at the Temghar Water Treatment Plant. The maintenance activities include repairs to the control panel, filtration of transformer oil, and other essential work at the high-pressure substation of the plant.

As per the official notification issued by TMC on Monday, water supply will be completely shut off from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM in several areas on Wednesday. The affected areas will be Ghodbunder Road, Vartak Nagar, Ritu Park, Jail, Gandhi Nagar, Rustomjee, Siddhanchal, Samata Nagar, Siddheshwar, Eternity, Johnson, and some parts of Kalwa.

In an official announcement shared via an X (formerly Twitter) post, the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) informed citizens about a planned 12-hour water cut scheduled for Wednesday, June 4. In areas not directly affected by this shutdown, water supply will continue as usual through the Shahad Temghar Water Supply Authority's (STEM) alternate zoning system. However, residents in those areas may still experience low pressure or intermittent supply during the day.

With the onset of the monsoon season expected soon in the region, the TMC has undertaken this maintenance to ensure the water infrastructure remains reliable and efficient during heavy rains. The scheduled works include repairs to critical components.

BMC Assures No Immediate Water Cuts as Lake Levels Reach 15% with Early Monsoon

While the monsoon has arrived in Mumbai, it has not yet delivered significant rainfall to the catchment areas that feed the city’s main lakes. Currently, the combined water levels across the seven lakes are at 15 per cent of their total storage capacity, slightly above what was recorded at this time in the past two years.

Despite the slow start, civic authorities remain hopeful that rainfall will soon pick up in the lake regions, helping to secure the city’s water supply and avoid the need for any water cuts this year.
