The Education Department of Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation (KDMC) has urged parents who applied for their children under the 25 percent reservation quota in the Maharashtra Right to Education (RTE) Act for economically weaker and disadvantaged groups not to rely solely on the SMS notifications received on their registered mobile numbers when the selection list for 2025-26 is released. KDMC officials emphasized that parents should visit the official website, student.maharashtra.gov.in, to check the list accordingly.

KDMC officials stated that the first round of the admission selection list started on February 14. Parents should check the status of their application by entering their child's application number on the RTE portal. The officials mentioned that the government has provided a window from February 14 to February 28 for verifying the allotment letter, guarantee letter, and relevant documents needed for the selected students. These documents will be verified at the verification center located at School No. 1, Gandhi Chowk, Bardan Galli, Kalyan West.

Sanjay Jadhav, Deputy Municipal Commissioner from the Education Department of KDMC, advised that parents should download the allotment letter from the RTE portal of the Maharashtra Government School Education and Sports Department. They should prepare two sets of the required documents for the admission process and visit the verification center for confirmation of their children's admission by February 28.

According to the RTE Act, private schools reserve 25% of seats for children from economically weaker sections (EWS) and disadvantaged groups. According to the official statement, "Under Section 12 (c) (1) of the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act, 2009, children belonging to weaker and disadvantaged sections are entitled to admission in self-financing and unaided schools, excluding minority schools."
