Thane Municipal Corporation To Set Up 25 Temporary Water Booths Across City Amid Scorching Heat

Mumbai: The Thane Municipal Corporation has informed about the temporary water booth initiative across the city for residents amid soaring temperatures. The Thane Municipal Corporation has urged residents to take full advantage of the temporary water booths set up in their areas during summer months.

The initiative started on Tuesday with the inauguration of a water fountain located under the Station Area Traffic Improvement Scheme (SATIS) at Thane Station. The collaboration includes several NGOs, including Yes Charitable Trust, JVM Charitable Foundation, and Samarth Bharat Vyaspeeth, as reported by ABP Majha.

In addition, the corporation also emphasised the importance of keeping the booths clean and well-maintained.

Here Are 25 Locations Where Water Booths Will Be Installed:

The temporary water booths will be set up at 25 places in Thane city, including Thane Railway Station, Kopri Bridge, Ice Factory, Asher It Park, Kisan Nagar School, Midc- Ambik Nagar No 3, Hajuri Village, Passport Office Bus Stop, and Teen Hath Naka.

Other points in Thane where these water booths will be installed are - Kolshet Road Naka, Balkum Naka, Majivada Naka, Kalwa Station Road, 90 feet Road-Kharegaon, Kalwa Naka-Datta Temple, Kausa Lake, Wafa Park, Amrit Nagar Police Chowki-Mumbra, Lokmanya Depot, Behind Central Jail-Rabodi, Court Naka, Vartaknagar Naka, Shastri Nagar Naka, Balkum at 25 places.

Water Temporarily Closed At Kalyan Railway Station

Amid the ongoing heatwave, the water supply to Kalyan Railway Station was temporarily closed over the weekend reportedly because of unpaid dues worth Rs. 4.41 crore.

As one of the busiest junctions on Mumbai's suburban railway network, this interruption raised concerns. The water supply was cut off on Saturday evening but was restored by Sunday after the railway authorities made partial payments, including Rs. 1.17 crore of the outstanding bill.
