Thane Municipal Corporation Removes 1481 Illegal Banners And Posters In City-Wide Clean-Up Drive

Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has launched a special drive to take stringent action against 1481 unauthorised banners and hoardings within the TMC limit. According to the TMC officials, in the special campaign drive, the officials started to carry out the removal of illegal banners and hoardings in Thane city.

Thane: Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has launched a special drive to take stringent action against 1481 unauthorised banners and hoardings within the TMC limit. According to the TMC officials, in the special campaign drive, the officials started to carry out the removal of illegal banners and hoardings in Thane city.

A total of 1481 illegal posters, banners, and hoardings have been removed within the Thane Municipal Corporation's wards within three days. The special drive was carried out under the instruction of Commissioner Saurabh Rao.

As part of the campaign, on the first day the civic teams successfully removed a total of 665 illegal banners from public spaces, including roadsides, footpaths, trees, and electricity poles. On the second day, a total of 422 illegal banners and posters were removed, and on the third day of the drive, a total of 394 illegal banners and posters were removed.

The drive focused on key areas such as Diva, Naupada-Kopri, Wagalen, Lokmanya Nagar, Savarkar Nagar, Vartak Nagar, Majivada-Manpada, Kalwa, Mumbra, and Diva, where the majority of the violations were found. The Encroachment Department of TMC officials said that in a move to improve the city's face, TMC started to remove banners and posters across the city.

In these actions, the team of TMC, comprising Shankar Patole, Deputy Commissioner of the Encroachment Department, Assistant Commissioners of all Ward Committees, and employees, was actively involved.
