In the national level competition organized by India Governance Forum, Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has topped the rank in the category of "Skoch State of Governance Report-2021" and has been honoured with the Star of Governance SKOCH Award in "Municipal Governance" National Award.
In a special ceremony held in Delhi on Tuesday, TMC commissioner Dr Vipin Sharma and Smart City chief executive officer and additional commissioner of TMC Sandeep Malvi accepted the award.
The selection process for the award is very rigorous and the projects are evaluated by the jury based on presentation. Thane Municipal Corporation is the only corporation in the state to receive the national-level Skoch Award this year.
Speaking about the achievement, TMC additional commissioner Sandeep Malvi said, "The "Skoch Award" is a big achievement for the TMC and the best part is that Thane is the only city in Maharashtra to achieve this award. The award is dedicated to the citizens of Thane."
