Thane: The Kalwa police have arrested three persons for threatening to kill a 25-year-old man from Kalwa on Saturday after the youth stopped the accused from tearing the posters of Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

After Shinde was elected as the new CM of Maharashtra, congratulatory posters have been put up by supporters all over Thane. One such poster was put up near the Tulja Bhavani temple in Mahatma Phule Nagar area of Kalwa.

When Devanand Kamble, a local resident of Kalwa, went out for a morning walk on Friday, he noticed that the accused were tearing the posters.

Kalwa police officials on the condition of anonymity informed, "When Kamble asked the accused to stop it, they told him to leave the place otherwise they would kill him. Kamble registered a complaint with Kalwa police station."
