Thane: A man and a woman sustained injuries when their motorbike was struck by a bus in Thane, on Monday morning. The bus, en route from Gandhinagar, Gujarat, to Bhiwandi in Thane, carried 30 passengers, none of whom were injured. The event took place at approximately 7 am at the Nagla Bunder signal located on Ghodbunder Road.
The 28-year-old woman passenger incurred head injuries, while the 24-year-old male biker also experienced injuries. Both were taken to a nearby hospital, where their status was described as stable, according to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Pankaj Shirsat. The motorcycle riders are residents from Kandivali. The 40-year-old bus driver from Gandhinagar has been apprehended, and an inquiry into the accident is in progress.

Dr. Shruti Shelke from Noble Hospital reported that the operation, conducted by Dr. Pupshraj, lasted four to five hours and involved the safe removal of fractured skull bones, with minimal blood loss.

Following the surgery, Ali was placed on ventilator support and is under strict monitoring. The medical team plans to assess his neurological status before considering the gradual removal of the ventilator. Further treatment will be decided based on this assessment. Ali's condition remains stable as he continues to recover in the ICU.
