Thane: As many as twenty residents have been safely evacuated after a major fire broke out at the electric duct of the fifteen-storey building in Thane on Tuesday evening. No casualties have been reported.
The fire incident was reported at fifteen floor Krishan building located in Panchpakhadi area in Thane at 4.40 PM on Tuesday.
Yasin Tadvi, the chief of the Registrar Disaster Management Cell of the Thane Municipal Corporation, said, "We received information that a fire broke out at the electric duct from the eighth floor to the fifteenth floor. The smoke was spreading across the building. Following the smoke, the residents were afraid after the incident."
The RDMC officials said that one fire engine, one rescue vehicle, and one pickup have been dispatched to the spot. The fire was brought under control by 5 PM. The fire has been extinguished completely within 20 minutes.

According to the fire officials, with the help of RDMC officials, they have rescued 18 to 20 residents while the smoke was spreading rapidly across the building.
