NMMC Commissioner and Administrator Dr. Kailas Shinde marked a remarkable achievement by participating in the Mumbai Marathon for the 10th consecutive year. He successfully completed the 42.195-kilometer race in 4 hours, 29 minutes, and 12 seconds, showcasing his commitment to both fitness and excellence.
The prestigious Mumbai Marathon, recognised as one of the most significant global events, celebrated its 20th year in 2025, with Dr. Shinde contributing to its legacy. The marathon began at 5 AM from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus in Mumbai, where Dr. Shinde maintained an average pace of 6 minutes and 23 seconds per kilometer, completing the race with impressive consistency.
Last year in June, Dr. Shinde had also participated in the renowned Comrades Marathon in South Africa, covering 86.6 kilometers in 11 hours, 10 minutes, and 56 seconds, finishing ahead of the scheduled time.
"Regular running practice and maintaining disciple in life is what has helped me remaining consistent in my running endeavours," Dr Shinde said.
