Mumbai : The BMC on Wednesday proposed the completion of pending road and trenching works worth Rs 550 crore in the city, but political parties played spoilsport over protocol. They alleged that they were not given enough time to study the issues and the proposal, thus, has now been delayed.
The civic body has proposed road improvement work worth Rs 271 crore in wards K/West (comprising Andheri West and Oshiwara) and R/south (Kandivali). It includes a proposal for laying down concrete on 14 roads in the former ward and four roads in the latter one. Initially proposed in 2014, these road works were delayed due to contractors quoting less than the expected amount.
