Mumbai: The Shree Siddhivinayak Ganapati Temple Trust reported record-breaking financial results for the 2025-2026 year.
While the anticipated income was originally set at Rs 155 crore, the actual revenue reached approximately Rs 182 crore. This reflects a significant 37% increase in annual income compared to the previous year.
Financial Details Announced at Board of Trustees Meeting on March 28
The financial details were announced at the Board of Trustees meeting on 28 March. The meeting was chaired by Shri Sadanand Sarvankar, who holds a Minister of State rank in the temple body controlled by the Government of Maharashtra.
Executive Officer Veena Patil presented the annual financial statements for the 2025-2026 period alongside the proposed budget estimates for the 2026-2027 financial year. The growth in income is credited to the coordinated planning of the administration and the devotional participation of devotees through offerings, donation boxes, and special prayers.
New Bhagyalakshmi Scheme to Support Girl Child with Rs 10,000 Fixed Deposit
A major highlight of the new budget is the "Shree Siddhivinayak Bhagyalakshmi Scheme", which has received government approval. This initiative supports the "Save the Girl Child, Educate the Girl Child" policy by providing for the welfare of newborn girls born in Maharashtra’s government hospitals on International Women’s Day. Under this scheme, a fixed deposit of Rs 10,000 will be placed in the name of the girl child within her mother's account to assist with future empowerment and education. The scheme will be supported by a budget of Rs 2 crore.
The Trust has also outlined several social welfare provisions for the upcoming year, including Rs 36 crore for medical financial assistance for poor and needy patients; infrastructure facilities for government and semi-government hospitals worth Rs 24 crore; and patient support through dialysis centres for Rs 2.60 crore.
The Shree Siddhivinayak Scholarship for children of farmers who have committed suicide has been allotted Rs 1 crore. A book bank providing free books to students will be supported by Rs 2 crore.
The temple had reported a record income of Rs 133 crore in 2024-2025, an increase of 15% compared to the earlier fiscal year. The income was higher than the Rs 114 crore that was estimated for 2024-25. The temple earns from donations and the sale of laddoo and coconut barfi as prasad. It also auctions jewellery and other precious items donated by devotees.
