In a shocking food safety violation, a female passenger discovered a piece of soap inside the vada pav she purchased from a stall at Karjat railway station on Tuesday evening. The incident, which occurred on platform number two recently, has sparked outrage among passengers and raised serious concerns about hygiene standards at railway food stalls.

Upon realising the contamination, the woman immediately alerted a security guard stationed at the platform. However, instead of taking her complaint seriously, the guard allegedly misbehaved with her and dismissively instructed her to return at 4:30 AM the next day if she wanted further action.

Determined not to let the matter slide, the woman proceeded to file a formal complaint in the station master's office at Karjat railway station. Her grievance was later acknowledged through the RailMadad platform, an online railway complaint system.

Railway authorities responded promptly, stating, "We received your complaint on RailMadad regarding the Karjat station stall V.K. Jain’s food quality. Your complaint has been noted, and the competent authority has immediately stopped the services of the said stall. The stall has been suspended until further notice, and strict action is underway. We appreciate you bringing this matter to our attention and assure you that such incidents will not occur in the future."

This alarming case highlights the pressing need for improved food safety measures and greater accountability at railway stations. Commuters and activists are calling for stricter inspections and severe penalties for vendors violating health and safety standards.
