In an inhuman incident, a 22-year-old man from Mumbai threw a two-and-a-half month old cat into fire. The incident occurred in Naya Nagar, Mira Road, and the culprit was identified as Siddhesh Patel. The shocking incident was captured on the CCTV footages of the Ajmal Rama Co-op Housing Society, and residents of the society were shocked to witness the video.

In the video, the accused was seen throwing the kitten into the fire and walking away. The kitten can be seen jumping out of the fire later and another cat, believed to be its mother, was seen running towards it. The local residents and animal lovers took serious note this cruel incident and registered an FIR against the accused. The animal lovers also alleged that family members of the accused threaten them with harm, so they have also filed a non-congnisable offence against family members, to be on the safe side.

The cat was taken to a veterinary doctor on time, and is out of danger. The kitten had multiple burns on its ventral and lateral abdomen and side. The doctors have advised daily cleaning and dressing of the wounds.
