Mumbai: Shiv Sena UBT MP Sanjay Raut launched a scathing attack on Union Home Minister Amit Shah, accusing him of disrespecting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj during his recent speech.

Raut criticised Shah for repeatedly referring to the Maratha king simply as 'Shivaji' rather than using the honorific 'Maharaj' or 'Chhatrapati'. Raut questioned whether the Union Home Minister was even aware of Shivaji Maharaj’s rightful title and stature.

“If someone doesn’t say ‘Shivaji Maharaj,’ remember – he was a Chhatrapati. It seems the Home minister of the country is unaware of that,” he said.

The MP also criticised Shah and Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for not inviting Kolhapur’s Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Raje to the event, alleging that only those royals who align with the BJP politically were invited.
