This workshop, which was organised to nurture entrepreneurship among the local villagers and fulfil their dreams, was attended by more than 60 men and women from Uttan, Dongari, Rai, Morva and other villages, who are budding entrepreneurs. Some of them are engaged in salaried jobs, agriculture or fishing, while others provide local tailoring and catering services. Most of them are 10th or 12th pass-outs, but have many innovative ideas. About 10 students were also present for the workshop.

Uday Wankawala, CEO, AIC-RMP, informed those present about the guidance provided by the organisation to budding entrepreneurs. He said, “We handhold people for transforming ideas into start-ups. This way we have assisted numerous promising rural entrepreneurs till now.”

Dhammapal Thorat, District Project Officer, Maharashtra Centre for Entrepreneurship Development, discussed the available government schemes, subsidies for men and women, and the training provided. Sachin Ranavase, Deputy General Manager, Jankalyan Sahakari Bank, guided the participants about raising the capital, loan options from the bank, and the required documents and criteria involved, and also answered questions from the participants.
