Amit Patil, who lives in Raoji Sojpal building near Portuguese Church in Dadar, said that he has been running around in BMC for over six months for a legal water connection, but to no avail. Ironically, the BMC regularises illegal water connection in a matter of days. First, the illegal connection is cut by the BMC, but if the person has a proof that he has been living in Mumbai from before 1995, the corporation regularises the water connection. Dy. Water Engineer Ashok Kumar Tawadia confirmed this. The BMC files an FIR when it takes action on illegal connections. But no BMC official knows what happens to it after it is filed.
