Raigad District Collector Kishan Jawale has urged political parties to appoint Booth Level Agents (BLAs) for each electoral roll section to ensure the accuracy and integrity of voter lists. He emphasized that political parties play a vital role in maintaining error-free electoral rolls, and their active participation is crucial in the verification and updating process.
A review meeting was held at the District Collector’s office on March 19 to discuss voter list preparation, revision, and updating. The meeting was attended by Deputy Collector (Elections) Nitin Waghmare, District Information Officer (DIO) Manisha Pingle, and other officials.
Providing key statistics, Collector Jawale stated that as of March 19, Raigad district has a total of 25,33,361 registered voters, comprising 12,08,926 male voters, 12,52,340 female voters, and 95 third-gender voters.
“The verification process will be conducted through Booth Level Officers (BLOs) in collaboration with appointed BLAs from political parties. This initiative aims to identify and remove duplicate, deceased, or relocated voters while ensuring corrections in voter details, making the electoral roll more precise and reliable,” a statement released by the DIO said.
Voter registration is a continuous process, and the voter list is updated four times a year based on the eligibility dates of January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1. New voters who turn 18 by any of these dates can fill out Form 6 in advance, and their applications will be processed once they become eligible. Voter registration is available both online and offline.

To facilitate voter registration and corrections, specific forms are available. Form 6 is used for new voter registration, while Form 6A is meant for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) who wish to register as voters. Form 7 is used for the deletion of names due to reasons such as death, relocation, or duplication. If voters need to make corrections in their details, such as name, photograph, or address, they must fill out Form 8.
Voter registration applications are processed under the 1950 Representation of the People Act and the 1960 Voter Registration Rules. Citizens can register offline at the designated Voter Registration Officer’s office or submit their applications online through the Voter Helpline App or Voter Service Portal.
“District Collector Kishan Jawale has urged all political parties to prioritize voter list verification by appointing BLAs and actively participating in the process. He emphasized that accurate voter lists are essential for transparent and fair elections, and cooperation from all stakeholders is necessary to maintain electoral integrity,” the DIO added.
