Mumbai : Mumbai police sleuths have recovered the vehicle used by the accused to transport the bodies of artist Hema Upadhyay and her lawyer Harish Bambhani. The vehicle, a transport tempo, was found in Charkop Industrial Estate in Kandivali area.
The police, who have arrested four accused in the double murder case, are yet to find the main accused and determine the motive. The tempo was recovered on Thursday after its location was revealed by Vijay Rajbhar during interrogation.
The police had arrested Vijay, Azad Rajbhar and Pradeep Rajbhar from Mumbai on Tuesday. These arrests came after they arrested Sadhu Rajbhar from Varanasi, who allegedly confessed to the murder. Azad, Rajbhar and Pradeep are fabrication workers in a workshop owned by Vidyadhar Rajbhar, the main accused who is still absconding.
With the vehicle of Hema’s lawyer Harish Bambhani still missing and the main accused not arrested, senior officers investigating the case inform that the case is far from solved. The needle of suspicion is still pointing to Hema’s husband Chintan Upadhayay, who was involved in a bitter divorce battle with Hema since 2010. The police are still looking for the vehicle owned by Harish Bambhani, which was used by Harish and Hema to meet the accused.
