Mumbai: Two days after a four-year-old boy was abducted and killed in Kandivali, the police detained a suspect from Surat, Gujarat. He will be brought to Mumbai on transit remand today. He will be questioned about the motive and modus operandi.
About The Case
The victim, Ansh Ansari, was found last Saturday on a road in Iraniwadi, not far from his grandmother’s tenement. He lived in Poisar with his mother Fatima, who the police said had remarried. The family earns a living through drainage work.

Last Thursday, Ansh and his mother went to visit his grandmother and planned to stay for a few days. On Saturday night, around 2 am, while they were sleeping outside, a man arrived on a bicycle and abducted the child, strangled him, and dumped his body back after 45 minutes.
Initially, the police suspected that he might have drowned, as his clothes were wet. However, upon further investigation, they discovered strangulation marks on the neck.
