The Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) provided financial assistance to children who lost their parents due to Covid 19. The assistance was provided through PMC’s Women and Child Welfare Department
The civic body had passed a resolution during the tenure of Monica Mahanwar, Chairperson of the Women's Child Welfare Committee, with an objective to help children below 21 years by providing them financial assistance
As part of it, a total of 128 children were given financial assistance in the form of term deposits. The remaining beneficiaries will be given relief through cheques soon.
“The Women's Child Welfare Committee has come up with the idea of providing financial assistance to the children of those who lost their parents during the Covid-19 period. The civic body aims to give new hope to these children in the form of financial assistance,” Harshda Upadhyay, Chairperson, Women and Child Welfare. She added that she has asked to find the children who have missed to avail of the benefits.
