The Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) has mandated the inclusion of QR codes on all advertisement materials displayed within its jurisdiction, following directives from the Bombay High Court.

The civic body has designated 175 specific locations across its four wards for the display of posters, banners, hoardings, and advertisement boards.

To facilitate the process of displaying ads in the civic jurisdiction, PMC has introduced an online application system. Applicants seeking permission to display temporary advertisements can visit https://pmc.advertisepermission.in/ to submit their applications.

Upon approval, a unique QR code is generated, which must be printed on the advertisement before it is displayed.

Municipal Commissioner Mangesh Chitale emphasized that prior approval from PMC is mandatory for all entities, including social organizations, public committees, traders, businesses, advertisers, and banner printing presses, before displaying any advertisement banners.

"The inclusion of the QR code on the banners prior to installation is compulsory. This will enable the officials to determine whether the advertisement is legally displayed or not," said the commissioner.

PMC has warned that any advertisement found without prior permission or lacking a QR code will be deemed illegal. Strict action will be taken in accordance with the Municipal Corporation Act, government resolutions, and the orders of the Bombay High Court. Ward officers have been instructed to enforce these regulations rigorously
