The Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) is recording daily collections of three to four crore rupees as payment of property tax. Over the past few days, the civic body has observed a significant increase in the number of property owners within the municipal limits paying their property tax.

"The Property Tax Collection and Assessment Department has intensified action against defaulters through specially formed seizure and recovery teams. This has resulted in the municipal corporation achieving record-breaking collections each day," said an official.

Earlier, on March 19, the municipal corporation surpassed last year's record by collecting a total of ₹370 crore. After breaking last year’s record for tax collection, the Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) is now witnessing continuous record-breaking collections daily, with more citizens actively paying their property tax.

Following this, on March 21, an additional ₹3.34 crore was collected, bringing the total property tax revenue for this financial year to ₹376 crore.

"Additionally, the strength of the municipal corporation has been reinforced after the High Court dismissed a petition filed by the Taloja Manufacturers Association and others. With this legal backing, the corporation has now moved into action mode," said the official.

Meanwhile, the municipal corporation continues to urge property owners to pay their dues promptly, as a penalty of 2% per month is levied on unpaid property tax.

To facilitate easy payments, PMC has developed a Citizen Property Tax Payment Guide and introduced an online payment system. Property owners can pay their taxes using the ‘PMC TAX APP’ mobile application or through the official website www.panvelmc.org. For any queries, property owners can contact the toll-free number 1800-5320-340.
