It took almost an hour for the fire brigade and police to rescue a cow who fell into open drainage in Panvel on Tuesday afternoon. Now, citizens are raising questions against the administration for leaving the drainage open.
As part of the pre-monsoon preparedness, the civic body or the local concerned agency cleans all drainage and ensures that they are closed well before the monsoon arrives in the city. However, open drainage along the Ekvira Hotel to Takka Dargah stretch showed the quality of work done by the agencies. A cow fell into open drainage on Tuesday afternoon along the stretch.
Meanwhile, police and locals noticed the cow inside the drainage which did not have much water due to poor removal of silt. The police called the fire brigade and within an hour, the cow was safely taken out of the drainage. While people praised the effort of the police and fire brigade, they raised questions about the concerned authority.
