Palghar, Maharahtra: In a heartbreaking incident in Nalasopara East, a three-year-old girl tragically lost her life after falling from the 12th floor of a residential building. The deceased, daughter of a 33-year-old electrician residing in Nalasopara East, Vasai, in Palghar district.

According to the police report filed at the Naigaon Police Station, the incident occurred around 8:20 pm on July 22, 2025. The child had accompanied her parents, to visit relatives staying on the same floor of the building.

Accident Occurred While Mother Was Helping Child Wear Shoes

As the family was preparing to return home, lithe little girl was made to stand on a footwear storage box so her mother could help her wear shoes. In a tragic turn of events, the child lost her balance and fell backward from the box, plunging down from the 12th-floor corridor through an open space behind the storage unit. The impact caused severe head injuries.

Child Suffered Severe Head Injuries in the Fall

She was immediately rushed to D.M. Petit Hospital in Vasai, but doctors declared her brought dead on arrival.

In a statement to the police, the child’s father confirmed that the incident was purely accidental and that he held no one responsible. No complaint has been filed, and there is no suspicion of foul play.

Case Registered Under Section 174 of CrPC; Probe Ongoing

The case has been registered under Section 174 of the Indian Code of Criminal Procedure, and further investigation is being carried out by Police Sub-Inspector Devdas Patil from Naya Gaon Police Station.

The tragic death has left the local community in shock, raising concerns once again about child safety measures in high-rise residential buildings.
