Palghar, Maharashtra: Virar Police have registered a case against a 21-year-old man for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl and violating the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The incidents reportedly occurred at the victim's native village in Uttar Pradesh.
FIR Registered
The complaint was filed by the minor girl's family. According to the FIR, the accused, a resident of Kudwa Dehra village in Amethi district, Uttar Pradesh, befriended the minor girl, who also hails from the same village.
The FIR states that on May 17, 2025, during the night, the accused allegedly forced physical relations with the victim at his old house. He also reportedly touched her chest and waist against her will. Following the alleged act, the accused threatened the victim that he would show her photos with him to her relatives if she did not comply.

The incidents are reported to have occurred between May 2023 and the present date. The case was registered at Virar Police Station on August 11, 2025.
Accused Booked
The accused has been booked under Sections 64(1), 74, 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023, along with Sections 4, 8, and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, 2012.
As of the time of reporting, no arrests have been made in the case and further investigation is ongoing.
