Pahalgam Terror Attack Aftermath: 800 Maharashtra Tourists Return From Kashmir, 70 More To Be Brought Back

On Friday, 232 tourists returned to Mumbai from terror-struck Kashmir. The IndiGo flight landed at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Friday evening.

Mumbai: Another batch of 232 tourists returned to Mumbai from Kashmir’s Srinagar on Friday. Maharashtra government has managed to bring back 416 tourists and is planning to bring back 70 more tourists stuck in Kashmir after the Pahalgam terrorist attack.

On Friday, 232 tourists returned to Mumbai from terror-struck Kashmir. The IndiGo flight landed at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Friday evening. With this, a total of 800 Maharashtra tourists have returned from Kashmir, including 416 through three aircraft facilitated by the state. Cabinet minister Ashish Shelar welcomed these tourists at Mumbai Airport. Moreover, the state government had also arranged special buses for tourists who had to travel to other parts of the state including Akola and Amravati.

The state government has also announced that it has received requests from another 60 to 70 Maharashtra tourists in Kashmir and more arrangements will be made to bring the remaining tourists back to Mumbai. Deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde had also arranged an aircraft for Maharashtra tourists which brought back 65 people early morning on Thursday.

After the ministry of civil aviation and the director general of civil aviation issued a strong advisory for airlines, Indian carriers have also announced waivers for travellers cancelling and rescheduling their flights to and from Srinagar.
