Mahanav Pratishthan and the One Notebook One Pen campaign have appealed to the public to celebrate this year’s Bhim Jayanti by conducting educational initiatives for underprivileged and tribal students.

Every year, huge sums are spent on celebrating anniversaries of great leaders—such as Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar JayantiMahaparinirvan DinGanesh UtsavShiv Jayanti, and birthdays of public figures. The campaign urges people to divert a portion of these expenses toward supporting the education of economically weaker sections.

The organization has encouraged citizens to adopt students, run free MPSC/UPSC coaching classes, and organize essay and elocution competitions in schools and communities based on Dr. Ambedkar’s educational journey. These initiatives, they say, can have a lasting impact.

Under the One Notebook One Pen campaign, the organization calls upon society to pay tribute to historical icons like Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, Sambhaji Maharaj, Mahatma Phule, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Savitribai Phule, Rajmata Jijau, and Mata Ramai by distributing educational materials such as notebooks, pens, and books during their birth anniversaries and major festivals like Ganesh Utsav.

Bhim Jayanti, which is celebrated across India and even internationally for an entire month, offers an ideal opportunity to contribute meaningfully. The campaign encourages people to offer notebooks, pens, unused yet functional clothes, schoolbags, books, and even smartphones or laptops at Dr. Ambedkar statues as a symbolic tribute.

Organizing committees and local mandals are urged to collect and distribute these donations to students in tribal and economically backward areas. Alternatively, contributors can get in touch with the campaign’s founder Raju Zhanke at 9372343108 to donate materials.

Mahanav Pratishthan emphasizes that small, meaningful gestures can bring about powerful societal change—starting with a notebook and a pen.
