Chakachak Dadar social organisation shared with The Free Press Journal, a picture of an unusual notice outside the chamber of the assistant municipal commissioner of Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation’s (BMC) G/North ward, which asks citizens to switch-off their mobile phones and other recording devices before entering.

While there is an order by the Bombay High Court and a circular by Mumbai police allowing citizens to record inside government offices, the ward officer Vinayak Vispute claims that recording photographs or videos without written permission is restricted.

The notice also warns the citizens found recording without a permission, that their devices would be seized and action would be taken against them
