Heavy Rainfall Causes Waterlogging in Bhiwandi and Surrounding Areas

In another news story from Thane city, on June 16, continuous heavy rainfall severely impacted Thane city and Bhiwandi, leading to widespread waterlogging in low-lying areas. Several locations, including Teen Batti, Rahnal Village on the Kasheli-Bhiwandi Road near Holy Mary School, Fena Pada, and Padma Nagar, reported significant water accumulation.

In Bhiwandi’s Teen Batti vegetable market, multiple establishments were submerged, as the area lies at a lower elevation and is prone to flooding. Motorists struggled to commute through the waterlogged stretches, while local shopkeepers expressed frustration over the persistent issue. They stated that despite facing the problem for years, no concrete solution has been provided by the Bhiwandi Municipal Corporation.
