Navi Mumbai: In view of the much-anticipated AR Rahman live concert scheduled for Saturday, May 3, at Dr. D. Y. Patil Stadium in Nerul, the Navi Mumbai Traffic Police has announced a temporary ban on the movement and parking of all types of heavy vehicles within city limits.

The traffic restriction will be in force from 2:00 PM to 12:00 midnight on Saturday to ensure smooth traffic flow and the safety of performers, VIPs, and attendees. The decision comes following a report submitted by the Senior Police Inspector of the Turbhe Traffic Division, highlighting the expected influx of crowds and potential traffic congestion in the area.

The order, issued by Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic), Tirupati Kakade, is being enforced under provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act. It strictly prohibits heavy goods vehicles from entering, operating, or being parked on any road within the Navi Mumbai Police Commissionerate during the specified time period.

However, exceptions have been made for vehicles transporting essential goods, emergency services including police, fire brigade, ambulances, government vehicles, and vehicles with official passes issued by the concert organizers.

Authorities have urged transporters and citizens to cooperate with the restrictions and plan their travel accordingly to avoid inconvenience.
