Navi Mumbai: In a dramatic rescue operation on Monday afternoon, five men were safely rescued by the Kharghar Fire Brigade after being stranded at the top of the Pandavkada Waterfall in Kharghar.

Despite a ban on visiting the waterfall during the monsoon season, the group had ventured to the top of the waterfall. As the water flow intensified due to heavy rains, the men found themselves unable to descend and became trapped.

Upon receiving the alert, the fire brigade responded swiftly and successfully brought all five individuals down to safety. All of them were unharmed and in stable condition.

The rescued individuals have been identified as Mahesh Subhash Shirgad, Rakesh Velmurugan, Pratik Jog, Ramesh Chingmete, and Sahil Shaikh. All five are residents of Sion Koliwada, Ambedkar Chawl in Mumbai.

After the rescue, the men were handed over to the Kharghar Police for further inquiry and necessary action, said an officer from fire brigade.

Authorities have urged the public to strictly follow safety advisories and avoid venturing into restricted or dangerous areas, especially during the monsoon.
