Navi Mumbai: Municipal Commissioner Rajesh Narvekar instructed the submission of a site-wise progress report before Diwali during a department heads' review meeting. Present at the meeting were Additional Commissioner Sujata Dhole, Vijay Kumar Mhasal, and all department heads.
During the review, Commissioner Narvekar delved into the ongoing projects of each municipal department, seeking detailed updates and issuing directives to expedite the work. In a bid to address the lingering issue of space allocation within the market, the commissioner oversaw a section-wise market review, emphasizing the need to clear unauthorized street vendors and allocate spaces to registered hawkers. Simultaneously, he urged swift completion of the ongoing market construction.
Municipal Commissioner Stresses On Timely Completion Of Ongoing Projects
In addition, the commissioner stressed the importance of taking prompt, time-bound actions to utilize municipal corporation-owned buildings for various purposes. He warned that accountability would be established if any laxity was detected in executing this directive.
With Diwali school vacations commencing on November 10, the commissioner directed the repair of toys in parks and the timely completion of necessary tasks. The Wonders Park project must also be finalized, and the toy trains in the city's five different gardens should be operational for children's enjoyment, as per the commissioner's orders. Furthermore, special attention should be paid to ensuring that Wonders Park resumes full operation after the monsoon, starting from October 15.
