The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has decided to hold a "Special Vaccination Session" on June 1, 2021, at Mansaheb Minatai Thackeray Hospital at Sector 15 in Nerul from 9 am to 5 am to ensure that students who have been admitted to foreign universities for higher education do not lose their educational opportunities due to lack of immunization.
“In this connection, students between the ages of 18 and 44 who want to go abroad for higher education are urged to come and get vaccinated during this special vaccination session,” said Abhijit Bangar, the municipal commissioner.
Eligible students have to bring valid proofs required for vaccination like proof of admission to a foreign university, visa and I-20 or DS-160 Forms obtained from the concerned university for obtaining such visa.
“It is mandatory for students coming for vaccination under the special vaccination session to bring any one of the documents mentioned above,” said an official from the civic heath department.
The civic body has appealed all the student in the age group of 18 to 44 years, going abroad for higher education from the NMMC area should take advantage of this special vaccination session.
Meanwhile, under the NMMC area, more than 3 lakh citizens have been vaccinated since January 16. As per the data shared by the civic Health Department, a total of 3,06,726 citizens taken the first dose of covid vaccine and 97 thousand 176 citizens have taken the second dose. Thus, a total of 4,03,902 COVID doses have been given.
