Navi Mumbai: Municipal Commissioner Dr. Kailas Shinde conducted a comprehensive review of the city's cleanliness initiatives and the implementation of the Hon’ble Chief Minister’s 100-day action plan. He directed officials at all levels to intensify inspections, ensure cleanliness improvements, and maintain strict oversight of sanitation efforts.

During a review meeting attended by senior municipal officials, Dr. Shinde emphasized the importance of deep cleaning and maintenance at railway stations, highways, and public sanitation facilities.

“CIDCO officials were also briefed about railway station cleanliness, toilet repairs, and unauthorized street vendors near railway station,” said a NMMC official. The Commissioner also ordered the immediate beautification of public spaces, including painting, sculpture maintenance, and the restoration of fountains.

Focusing on waste management, Dr. Shinde mandated strict segregation of wet, dry, and hazardous waste at the household level. He instructed officials to engage with residential societies and schools to raise awareness and encourage compliance. Additionally, he called for the implementation of a ‘Toilet Service App’ to monitor the upkeep of over 450 public and community toilets.

The Commissioner also reviewed the progress of the online grievance redressal system, emphasizing a ‘Zero Pendency’ approach for swift complaint resolution. “The residents are urged to actively participate in citizen feedback initiatives under the Swachh Survekshan campaign,” Dr Shinde said.

To ensure transparency and accountability, Dr. Shinde instructed all municipal departments to document their actions, maintain photographic records, and upload progress updates on the municipal website. He also stressed the importance of timely execution of legal matters and ongoing city development projects.
