Navi Mumbai News: NMMC Demolishes Illegal Constructions In Airoli, Fines Owners ₹50,000

The crackdown targeted illegal structures at E-76, Sector 4, Airoli, belonging to Dipali H. Singh and Hirendra R. Singh, and K-89, Sector 4, Airoli, owned by Washivale Tukaram Hari. These constructions were carried out without prior approval from the NMMC.

Navi Mumbai: The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) carried out a demolition drive against unauthorized constructions in Airoli after property owners failed to comply with official notices."

The crackdown targeted illegal structures at E-76, Sector 4, Airoli, belonging to Dipali H. Singh and Hirendra R. Singh, and K-89, Sector 4, Airoli, owned by Washivale Tukaram Hari. These constructions were carried out without prior approval from the NMMC.

"notices were served under Section 54 of the Maharashtra Regional and Town Planning Act, 1966, wherein the owners were instructed to remove the illegal structures. However, as the directives were ignored, the civic body undertook partial demolition of the buildings today," said an official.

Additionally, a total penalty of ₹50,000 (₹25,000 per site) was recovered from the property owners.

The encroachment removal operation was conducted under the supervision of Airoli Division Assistant Commissioner Dr. Ankush Jadhav and Junior Engineer Sandip Mhatre, along with officials from the G Division and a special encroachment police squad.

The demolition process involved one gas cutter, three hammers, and a team of ten laborers. The NMMC has stated that similar strict actions against unauthorized constructions will continue in the future.
