To press for the long-pending demand of naming the Navi Mumbai International Airport after D.B. Patil, a massive car, bike, and rickshaw rally has been organized on June 24, 2025. The rally will also mark the 12th death anniversary of the veteran leader and aims to draw the Central Government’s attention towards issuing the official notification before the airport’s inauguration.

The state-level process for the airport’s naming has been completed, and the proposal is currently pending approval with the Central Government. Recent reports indicate that the airport is likely to become operational soon, heightening the anticipation among locals and supporters across the five coastal districts and other regions.

The grand rally, organized under the banner of the Loknete D.B. Patil Navi Mumbai International Airport Naming All-Party Action Committee, is set to begin at 10 AM near CIDCO Exhibition Centre, Vashi, and will proceed via Palm Beach Road to Airport Reti Bandar Gate, concluding at Kalbhairav Mandir in Chinchpada, Karanjade, Panvel.

The rally is expected to witness participation from a large number of supporters, especially the sons of the soil from Palghar, Thane, Mumbai Suburbs, Navi Mumbai, and Raigad. Organizers have emphasized that the event is also an opportunity to pay collective tribute to D.B. Patil and to urge the Central Government to expedite the notification process respecting the State Government’s proposal.

Dashrath Patil, President of the All-Party Action Committee, and CA Nilesh Dnyaneshwar Patil, President of the Agri Koli Youth Foundation, the coordinating organization, have appealed to all supporters to join the rally in large numbers to make the event a grand success.
