Mumbai: A 19-year-old from Mauritius, experienced an extraordinary recovery following a severe foot injury sustained in a March 2025 motorcycle accident. While riding as a rear passenger, he was involved in a collision that crushed his right foot, resulting in multiple fractures and a major soft tissue injury. Initially, local doctors suggested a below-knee amputation due to the seriousness of his condition, revealing through CT scans shattered bones, displaced fragments, and a large soft tissue hematoma.
Faced with this dire outlook, Ashfaq sought alternatives and consulted StemRx in Mauritius, which referred him to a specialized hospital in Navi Mumbai for advanced regenerative therapy. Reflecting on his ordeal, Ashfaq expressed feelings of despair at the prospect of amputation, fearing for his future and independence.
