Navi Mumbai News: CIDCO Celebrates 55th Foundation Day, Highlights Global-Standard Achievements And Upcoming Projects; VIDEO

The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) celebrated its 55th Foundation Day at CIDCO Bhavan, with Vice Chairman and Managing Director Vijay Singhal highlighting the organization’s global-standard achievements in urban planning and development.

Navi Mumbai: The City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO) celebrated its 55th Foundation Day at CIDCO Bhavan, with Vice Chairman and Managing Director Vijay Singhal highlighting the organization’s global-standard achievements in urban planning and development.

Speaking at the event, Singhal credited past and present CIDCO officers and employees for successfully developing Navi Mumbai into a well-planned city. He reviewed major ongoing projects, including Navi Mumbai International Airport, NAINA City, and the Mass Housing Scheme.

"These projects would boost the economic development of the state along with Navi Mumbai. The commercial operations at Navi Mumbai International Airport will be commence soon," said Singhal while addressing the audience.

On the occasion were present Dr. Raja Dayanidhi, Joint Managing Director, CIDCO, Ganesh Deshmukh, Joint Managing Director, CIDCO, Suresh Mengade, Chief Vigilance Officer, CIDCO, along with officials and employees of CIDCO on large number.

While speaking at the event Singhal also extended his best wishes to the employees and officials for CIDCO’s Foundation Day. He also said that for the first time CIDCO participated in World Economic Forum, Davos of this year and has launched the projects of International Educity and Entertainment Arena in Navi Mumbai by signing the MoUs.

These projects are the first of their kind in the country. Singhal also informed that the process of tender for the work of Kondhane Dam, which is planned to meet the growing water demand of Navi Mumbai and NAINA, is in final stage. "CIDCO has established a strong international reputation and it is a matter of proud for the employees to be a part of CIDCO," Singhal added.

Speaking on the occasion Dr. Raja Dayanidhi offered his best wishes to the employees and officials and said that the other states in the Country follow CIDCO’s model while implementing urban development projects. He expressed his belief that CIDCO would continue its success journey in future also.

The Government of Maharashtra established CIDCO on 17th March, 1970 for the purpose of the development of Navi Mumbai. CIDCO has successfully executed numerous exemplary urban development projects over its five-decade-long journey.

The event began with the lighting of the lamp by the hands of dignitaries. The dignitaries were welcomed by offering the sapling and memento. In her introductory speech, Pramda Bidve provided a brief overview of CIDCO's journey.

On this occasion, wards of CIDCO employees who have made an outstanding performance in 10th and 12th examinations were rewarded by the hands of dignitaries.
