The Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has urged citizens not to believe a fake message being circulated on WhatsApp regarding the disconnection of water connections. The misleading message falsely claims to be from the NMMC Water Supply Department and instructs people to contact a specific mobile number (09834225768) for assistance.
In an official statement released, NMMC clarified that the message was not issued by the corporation and that the mentioned phone number does not belong to any NMMC official. The civic body has advised residents to ignore such misinformation and avoid engaging with unknown sources spreading false claims.
Citizens are encouraged to verify any official communication directly from NMMC’s official website or authorized channels. The corporation has also urged people to refrain from forwarding unverified messages to prevent the spread of misinformation.
For any official inquiries related to water supply and billing, residents are advised to contact NMMC through its designated helplines.

"Dear consumer
I inform you a notice has been issued to disconnect your pipeline water connection, Because your previous month Bill was not updated please update your connection or call our NMMC officers immediately. -09834225768
Note- Otherwise Your Pipeline water connection will be Disconnected Tonight 08:31 PM"
