Navi Mumbai: To  combat the growing concerns of online fraud and cybercrime, the Kamothe Colony Forum, in collaboration with the Kamothe Police Station, organized an informative session  on different forms of cyber frauds. The event was conducted specially for residents of Sector 36, Kamothe.

The meeting, held at Ravi Height Society, aimed at raising awareness and providing crucial guidance to citizens on how to safeguard themselves from cyber-related crimes.

The session was led by Senior Police Inspector Vimal Bidve, who provided an in-depth overview of online fraud prevention and emphasized the importance of staying vigilant in the digital age.

"The Inspector Bidve discussed various types of online frauds, including phishing, identity theft, and scams that are often carried out through emails, social media, and phone calls. She also gave practical advice on how residents can protect their personal information and avoid falling victim to such crimes," said a member.

The initiative saw large number of residents from the surrounding areas attending the meeting.

" The gathering highlighted the strong community spirit and the importance of collective vigilance in the face of cyber threats," informed the organiser Arun Jadhav

The event was thoughtfully planned by the  Society, who worked together to ensure that the session was well-organized and informative for everyone in attendance.

Making the event  interactive was the  Q&A session at the end of the meeting.

This enabled residents to clarify any doubts and further understand the steps they can take to protect themselves from cybercrime.

"This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to educate citizens and ensure that the residents of Kamothe are well-equipped with the knowledge and resources to prevent online fraud and stay safe in an increasingly digital world" said a Senior Social Worker Ranjana Sadolikar
