Navi Mumbai: new arm flyover connecting Palm Beach Road to the Sion-Panvel Highway was inaugurated at Vashi Sector 17 by Maharashtra Forest Minister Ganesh Naik, providing a direct route for commuters travelling towards Pune.
The flyover, developed by the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC), is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion and reduce travel time. Civic officials, including Mayor Sujata Patil and Deputy Mayor Dasharath Bhagat, were present at the inauguration ceremony.
Speaking to the media, Naik said, “This connector from Palm Beach Road to the Sion-Panvel Highway is extremely useful for commuters heading towards Pune. It addresses a key gap in Navi Mumbai’s road network, and such infrastructure will continue to improve the city’s connectivity and overall planning.”

Highlighting the project’s impact, an NMMC official said, “Earlier, motorists had to take a long detour via Sanpada to access the highway. With this 290-metre arm flyover, commuters can now directly join the Sion-Panvel Highway, saving 10 to 15 minutes of travel time and reducing fuel consumption.”
