Navi Mumbai: A 30-year-old man has been arrested by the Koparkhairane Police for flashing and making obscene gestures and actions towards women who came to a garden for walking and jogging. The accused has been identified as Sunny Panchu Yadav, a resident of Kopri village in Vashi.
According to the police, for the past few days, Yadav had been frequenting Haji Fakir Mohammad Patel Garden in Sector-11, Koparkhairane, during morning and evening hours. He was observed making lewd gestures and obscene movements towards women walking in the garden.
Several women had reported this behavior to a social worker living in Sector-28, Vashi. “To verify the complaints, I visited the garden on Thursday morning. During my visit, Yadav allegedly began behaving inappropriately towards me as well, making obscene gestures. In the pretext of speaking over phone, I shot his videos and then dialed the emergency helpline 112 and informed the authorities. Koparkhairane Police arrived at the scene shortly after and, upon receiving a detailed account, he was detained by the police,” the social worker said.
Following the incident, the police have registered a case under Section 79 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and arrested Sunny Yadav.
