Navi Mumbai: Builder’s Office Targeted In Firing At Airoli’s Sector-1 Construction Site, Suspect Detained; VIDEO

One person was detained after a case of firing at a construction site at Airoli was reported on Thursday evening. The incident happened near Shiv Colony at sector 1 in Airoli and no injuries were reported.

Navi Mumbai: One person was detained after a case of firing at a construction site at Airoli was reported on Thursday evening. The incident happened near Shiv Colony at sector 1 in Airoli and no injuries were reported.

Sudhir Haribhai Sharma, a local builder who had undertaken the construction work of a building at a plot belonging of a localite, is suspected to be the target of the shooter.

“Sharma was not at the construction site but was at his office which is located at different place in Airoli. After the incident was reported, Sharma informed us about a suspect whom he suspected to have shot the fire and we have detained him. The detained person is his relative,” Deputy Commissioner of police (Zone I) Pankaj Dahane said. According to police, the case is suspected to be of extortion.

The bullet fired had hit on wall and a mark was found, said assistant commissioner of police (Vashi divison) Aadinath Budhwant, said. A case has been registered with Rabale police regarding the same and the further rinvestigations are on.
