If hearing expedition stories,knowing an explorer's challenges while scaling the tallest mountains sounds fascinating,then a visit to  Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan (BVB) Navi Mumbai Kendra Children’s Club is a must.

The organisation based in Vashi, conducts-workshops, discussions, contests specially for the children between the age group of 4 years to 14 years. 

A meet and greet event is scheduled to be held on January 12. An Hardware Engineer Dr Ajay Bhat , hailing from San Francisco, USA will be interacting with the children. “ This is the 4th year that we are conducting events for the Children and the event planned on January 12, will be the last event for this year 2024-25 as from February the next session will commence. Since children are keen on hearings stories it was decided to invite a person who has experienced adventure firsthand, said the incharge of the club, Dr Veena Adige. 

Bhat, a phd holder from Cornell University, USA is into extreme adventure like mountaineering, trekking etc . Essentially from engineering background  and professionally associated with Apple, Bhat’s adventure credits include scaling of  Mount Khillimanjaro situated at 19,341 feet, the tallest peak in Africa. He has also climbed to the base camp of Mount Everest  and while trekking among the arctic circle has witnessed the magical northern lights. 

His constant search for adventure got him to complete the world's highest tandem skydive from an height of 18,000 feet.  “ We want children to hear stories that mirror determination, strength and the earnest desire to overcome fear. Interaction with persons who have taken up these challenges is expected to make sessions more interesting and informative. ” adds Adige. Children will also be having a question and Answer session with the guest wherein they can seek more. The club started four years back presently has a total of 40 members between the age group of 4 to 14 years hailing from different schools of Navi Mumbai like Avalon Heights, Goldcrest, Father Agnel, North Point, St Marys, Poddar and others.

The event will also showcase a-short feature film followed by an interactive quiz based on the film. 

Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan was started by Shri KM Munshi with the blessings of Mahatma Gandhi. The Head Office is at Mumbai Chowpatty and there are more that 90 kendras in India and Centres in London, New York , Sydney. Navi Mumbai Kendra started just after Kovid and is the newest one showcasing culture and education in its huge structure near Vashi station
